Quod Libet Audio Player and Tag Editor – Install Quod Libet on Ubuntu

Quod Libet is a free and open source audio player, tag editor and music management software for Linux, MacOS and Windows. It is based on GTK and python and released under GNU General Public License v2.0.It uses the popular Mutagen tagging library. It supports multiple audio back-ends like GStreamer and xine-lib, play queue, Bookmarks, Multimedia key, Replay Gain, Auto-selects, clipping prevention, Lyrics downloading and saving, Internet Radio, Podcast support, edit many files at once and more.

Install Quod Libet on Ubuntu

Quod Libet is available as a flatpak package. First you need to install flatpak on your system. If you don’t have flatpak and flathub on your system, then follow below tutorial and install it. Then restart your system.

How to install flatpak on ubuntu

Open your terminal application (ctrl+alt) and run below Quod Libet flatpak installation command. It will install the latest version of Quod Libet on your system.

flatpak install flathub io.github.quodlibet.QuodLibet

After the installation run this command to start Quod Libet on your system.

flatpak run io.github.quodlibet.QuodLibet
