KTorrent BitTorrent Download Manager Application

KTorrent is a free and open source BitTorrent software for Linux. KTorrent is a powerful torrent client from KDE team but you can use in any desktop environment. Using this you can download files using the BitTorrent protocol. It comes with speed limits support, previewing video and audio files, ban peers with an additional IP Filter, UDP tracker support, protocol encryption and webseeds support. You can create trackerless torrents and Connect through a proxy. it also comes with tracker authentication support.

Install KTorrent on Ubuntu

KTorrent is available via snap, flathub and default Ubuntu repositories. You can install it via the terminal application easily. Open terminal (ctrl+alt+t) and run below commands one by one. It will install the KTorrent on your system.

sudo apt update
sudo apt install ktorrent

After the installation you can open it via below command or from applications menu.

ktorrent

Install KTorrent via Flatpak:

Install Flatpak and flathub on your system if you don’t have it and restart your system after the installation. Open the terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below KTorrent flatpak install command.

flatpak install flathub org.kde.ktorrent

After the KTorrent installation run it by below command.

flatpak run org.kde.ktorrent

You can also uninstall it via

sudo flatpak uninstall org.kde.ktorrent

Install KTorrent via Snap:

You can also install KTorrent app via snap command. In terminal run this command.

sudo snap install ktorrent --candidate
