How to install gPodder Podcast Client on Ubuntu

gPodder is a free and open source podcast client for Linux, MacOS, BSD, Sailfish OS and Windows. It is released under GNU General Public License v3.0 and written in Python using GTK+. It comes with extensions support to extend its features. It is a simple and easy to use application. You can add new podcasts via url and download to your local disk. It also comes with podcast discovery option. It also supports sync to device option. It is based on Podcastparser and mygpoclient.

 

Install gPodder on Ubuntu

gPodder Podcast Client is available as a flatpak package on Ubuntu. You need to install and setup flatpak and flathub on your Ubuntu system to install any flatpak application. Follow the below link to install flatpak and flathub on your system if you don’t already installed. If you already installed it then skip this step and follow the gPodder Podcast Client installation.

How to install flatpak on ubuntu

After flatpak installation restart your system. Open terminal (ctrl+alt+t) software and run below gPodder Podcast Client flatpak installation command.

flatpak install flathub org.gpodder.gpodder

You can run this app using below command.

flatpak run org.gpodder.gpodder

 

If you want to uninstall gPodder Podcast Client then run this command.

sudo flatpak uninstall org.gpodder.gpodder
