Shortwave is a free and open source internet radio player for Linux. Using this you can discover and listen your favorite internet radio stations on your desktop. It uses radio-browser. info’s community stations database and released under GNU General Public License v3 license. It comes with automatic songs recognition and save them individually in your app. You can play shortwave audio on supported network devices like Google Chromecasts support. It also comes with Gradio support to import stations.
Install Shortwave Internet Radio Player on Ubuntu:
Shortwave Internet Radio Player is available as a flatpak for Ubuntu. You need to download and setup flatpak and flathub repository on Ubuntu. Follow the below tutorial for install and setup flatpak and flathub on Ubuntu.
How to install flatpak on Ubuntu:
After that open your terminal app (ctrl+alt+t) on Ubuntu. Then type the below Shortwave Internet Radio Player flatpak installation command and hit the enter key.
flatpak install flathub de.haeckerfelix.Shortwave
During the installation, it will ask to confirm the Shortwave Internet Radio Player installation. Press y and enter. Then confirm once again to install Shortwave Internet Radio Player on your Ubuntu system. You can start the Shortwave by running the below command in terminal.
flatpak run de.haeckerfelix.Shortwave
You can uninstall Shortwave Internet Radio Player by using the below command.
sudo flatpak uninstall de.haeckerfelix.Shortwave
