Facebook has announced that facebook Pages and profiles of popular public figures (celebrities, journalists,government officials, popular brands and businesses) with large audiences can now be verified. verified Facebook pages will now display a small blue check mark beside their owner’s name on the social network.

Facebook announced it has developed a programming language called Feature eXtraction Language (FXL) in an effort to help combat spam on the social networking service. FXL described as a narrowly-optimized implementation of a well-chosen subset of Standard ML (with some customized syntax).FXL offers two key advantages: it is simple and easy to write, yet extremely efficient for Facebook-sized workloads.

Facebook App Center Now Available in India, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and UK

Facebook has announced that The App Center is now available in Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Initially, the App Center was available to users in the United States only.Now facebook accepting submissions from developers with translated apps for the App Center.Facebook also said that it will be launching it in Brazil, France, Germany, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, and Turkey in the coming weeks.
