Ecosia search engine has released the Ecosia Browser for Windows and macOS. It is based on the Chromium open-source project and powered by the sun, producing 25Wh of solar energy when the app is in use, according to the makers. Ecosia invests all of its profits in planting trees and renewable energy projects.

The Ecosia Browser comes with the Ecosia green search engine by default, along with features such as the green leaf icon, climate pledge rating, AI chat, built-in ad-blocker, privacy panel, and the ability to browse for longer by conserving battery power and limiting background activity.
