Google+ What’s Hot shows popular google+ posts.It appears underneath new posts inside the main stream.

Ripples:

Google+ Ripples is cool visualization tool and it lets you visually follow the flow of a conversation and give some analytics.

New Google+ and Google Apps integration

Google has announced a new feature for Google Plus,now google Plus is available for Google Apps customers.From google enterprise blog

“now you can manually turn on Google+ for your organization. Once Google+ is turned on, your users will just need to sign up at google.com/+ to get started. For customers who use Google Apps for Business or the free version of Google Apps and who have chosen to automatically enable new services, Google+ will automatically become available to all of your users over the next several days.”

Google SSL-encrypted search

Google announced that SSL-encrypted search will be the default for signed-in users. https://www.google.com This change encrypts the search queries and Google’s results page. This is especially important when you’re using an unsecured Internet connection, such as a WiFi hotspot in an Internet cafe.When someone search from https://www.google.com and websites you visit from google organic search listings will still know that they came from Google, but won’t receive information about each individual query.

Google is shutting down Google buzz, code search, jaiku and some other

Google is shutting down some of its services. Shut down product list:

Code Search along with the Code Search API on January 15, 2012.
Google Buzz and the Buzz API in few weeks.
Jaiku will shut down on January 15, 2012.
iGoogle’s social features on January 15, 2012. iGoogle and non-social iGoogle applications, will stay as they are.
The University Research Program for Google Search will close on January 15, 2012.

200 million chrome and 40 million google+ users

In a press release from Google, CEO Larry Page said that “Google+ is now open to everyone and we just passed the 40 million user mark. People are flocking into Google+ at an incredible rate and we are just getting started!”
And the three year old google chrome browser hits the 200 million users. According to Net Applications,in September Total market share of  google chrome is 16.20%.

Google+ Who can notify you

Google+ rolling out a new option in Google+ settings called ‘Who can notify you’.

This setting controls who you’ll get notifications from, if they:

Share with you individually
Select ‘Notify about this post’ (when sharing to a circle you’re in)
+Mention your name
Invite you to a hangout
Invite you to play or send you messages from a game

New google+ lock posts and API for Search, +1s and Comments

Google has announced a new google+ feature that allows locking and closing of comments on posts before sharing. Google has also released a new google+ APIs for search, +1s and comments for developers. The new APIs allow developers to build apps that incorporate google+ search.

Google+ hits 43.4 million users

According to Paul Allen (Ancestry.com co-founder and unofficial Google+ statistician), Google+ has 43.4 million users now and Google+ witnessed a 30% increase in users in the two days following its official opening to all users over age 18. According to Hitwise,Visits to Google Plus increased by 1269% last week and received 15 million U.S. visits, up from 1.1 million.

Google’s 13th birthday google doodle

Today (27th September) the search engine giant google celebrates its 13th birthday with a new google doodle on its homepage showing the five letters of the google sitting around a cake and lighted with 13 candles and 3 caps. The domain name for Google was registered on September 15, 1997 and the company was incorporated on September 4, 1998.
