Google the default Search in Firefox for 3 years

Google and Mozilla have signed a new agreement that google will remain the default Search in Firefox for at least three more years.

“Under this multi-year agreement, Google Search will continue to be the default search provider for hundreds of millions of Firefox users around the world,” said Gary Kovacs, CEO, Mozilla.

“Mozilla has been a valuable partner to Google over the years and we look forward to continuing this great partnership in the years to come,” said Alan Eustace, Senior Vice President of Search, Google.

Google added flight information on google.com

Google has rolled out a new feature in google search. The new feature shows flight information right in your Google search results on certain flight related searches. For example, if you search for [flights from San Francisco to Las Vegas] you’ll see a table that shows available flights, including duration and prices. You can adjust dates on the page, or click any flight to be taken to Flight Search to further research and book your trip.

Google+ chat with people in mutual circles

Google+ rolled out a new feature called chat with people in mutual circles. what’s new in this feature?

“1.Previously you could only chat with someone if you knew their email address. Now you just need to have each other in Circles.

2.When you and your contacts have each other in Circles, you’ll be able to chat with them across Google properties such as Gmail, Google Plus, iGoogle, Orkut, and the Google Talk Client.

3.Instead of displaying all of your contacts in your Google Plus Chat list, we’re displaying contacts from your most recent conversations who are online now. (You’ll still be able to use the search box at the top of the Chat list to find contacts that aren’t displayed.)”

Google the search giant rolled out a new feature in google+ called trending topic. The new trendig topics in google+ lists 10 of the hottest and most popular discussion items on the social network and clicking on a trending topic will launch a search query. Also added some new features, now google+ users search within just their own posts, their circles or the entire Google+ network.

Direct Connect from Google search

Google has rolled out a new feature called Direct Connect and Google+ pages now appear in search results.Th e new feature direct Connect makes it easy for users to find and follow brands on Google+ via Google Search. Just go to Google and search for [+], followed by the page you’re interested in. Example: +Angry Birds . Now Direct Connect works for a limited number of pages (like +Google, +Pepsi, and +Toyota).

Google+ photos +1

Vincent Mo, Google+ Photos engineering lead, announced a new feature on Google+ photos that users can now give +1 for photos.

To +1 a photo, click on a photo to open the lightbox photo viewer, and click +1 button at the bottom left side of the photo or click the counter to see who else has +1’d it.

+1’ing a photo is also available in the latest Google+ iPhone app and is coming soon to the Android app and the mobile web site.
