Krename Batch File Renamer

Krename is a free and open source batch file renamer application for Linux. Using Krename app you can rename large numbers of files without any difficulty. You can add sequence of numbers or changing case during the rename. It comes with option to sort files, move up and down, display names and you can also extend its features using plugins. It is release under GNU General Public License v2.0.

How to Install krename on Ubuntu Linux

Krename is available from the default Ubuntu repository and as a flatpak package from flathub remote repository. In your terminal app (ctrl+alt+t) run below commands one by one to install the latest version of Krename on your system.

sudo apt update
sudo apt install krename
krename

You can also uninstall Krename using this command.

sudo apt purge krename

Install Krename via Flatpak:

First you need to install flatpak and flathub on your system. And restart it after the installation.

Now open the terminal app using ctrl+alt+t keys and run below command to install Krename flatpak install command.

flatpak install flathub org.kde.krename

And open Krename using

flatpak run org.kde.krename

And uninstall Krename using

sudo flatpak uninstall org.kde.krename
