Tauon Music Box is a free and open source simple and easy to use music player for Linux and Windows. It is released under GNU General Public License version 3 + license. For the audio playback is uses GStreamer and BASS Audio Library. It supports gapless playback, Last fm scrobbling, radio broadcasting and you can add tracks by simple drag and drop. It supports FLAC, APE, TTA, WV, MP3, M4A (aac, alac), OGG, OPUS, XSPF and CUE file types. You can edit the music tags within the application by using the MusicBrainz Picard.
Install Tauon Music Box on Ubuntu:
you can install Tauon Music Box on Ubuntu via snap and flatpak.
Install Tauon Music Box via snap:
Open your terminal app (clrt+Alt+T). And type the below command and hit the enter key to install Tauon Music Box on Ubuntu via snap.
sudo snap install tauon
Then type your Ubuntu password and press enter if needed. After the installation of Tauon Music Box, click the show applications in the Ubuntu Gnome dock and type Tauon Music Box in the search box and click Tauon Music Box to open it.
Install Tauon Music Box via Flatpak:
Please follow the below link to install and setup flatpak on your system. You need it to install Flatpak apps.
How to install flatpak on ubuntu:
After the installation of flatpak, run the below command in your terminal to install the Tauon Music Box.
flatpak install flathub com.github.taiko2k.tauonmb
During the installation it will ask like this “Do you want to install it?[Y/n]”. Type y and press the enter to start the installation. it will ask one more time to confirm it like that. You can run Tauon Music Box by running the below command terminal.
flatpak run com.github.taiko2k.tauonmb
