How to install RoloViewer on Ubuntu – Image slideshow viewer

RoloViewer is a free and open source image slideshow viewer for Linux and Windows. Using this you can show pictures and playlists. It supports jpg,txt and m3u file formats. It comes with digital photo frame mode to filter directories and select random folder to show images. It supports ICC color profiles, fullscreen mode and transitions effect support. It also comes with integrated Exiftool to show some image details, screensaver mode, block system power saving and drag and drop support. It is released under GNU General Public License v3.0 license.

Install RoloViewer image slideshow viewer on Ubuntu:

RoloViewer image slideshow viewer available as a AppImage file format for Ubuntu and linux based OS. You can install it easily on your system. First go to the RoloViewer image slideshow viewer download page and download RoloViewer in AppImage file format.

Here for me the downloaded file name is “roloviewer-1.0.1-x86_64.AppImage” and the my default download path is Downloads folder . You can change the below command based on your file name and your default path. Open your ubuntu terminal app (ctrl+Alt+T keys ) and run this command to go to the Downloads folder.

cd Downloads

Then run this command to change the file permission and make it executable.

sudo chmod +x ~ roloviewer-1.0.1-x86_64.AppImage

Enter your Ubuntu password if needed. Then click Yes to integrate RoloViewer with your system.

Then click the show applications in the Ubuntu Gnome dock and type RoloViewer in the search box and click RoloViewer to open it.
