How to install BZFlag on Ubuntu – Multiplayer 3D Tank Battle Game

BZFlag is a free open source first person multiplayer 3D tank battle game for Windows, macOS and Linux. In this game you can use lasers, guided missiles and super bullets to attack your enemy. it comes with Capture the Flag, Rabbit Chase, Free For All and Open FFA game play modes. Some other features are Radar and Super Flags to to boost your game play.

Install BZFlag on Ubuntu:

You can install this multiplayer 3D tank battle game via snappy and flatpak on Ubuntu.

Install BZFlag via snappy:

Open your terminal app (clrt+Alt+T).In the terminal type the below command and press the enter key.

sudo snap install bzflag

Then type your Ubuntu password and press enter if needed. This will install the latest version of BZFlag multiplayer 3D tank battle game on Ubuntu. After the installation of BZFlag multiplayer 3D tank battle game, click the show applications in the Ubuntu Gnome dock and type BZFlag in the search box and click BZFlag to open it.

Install BZFlag via Flatpak:

You can also install BZFlag multiplayer 3D tank battle game on Ubuntu via flatpak. First you need to install and setup flatpak on your system to install and use flatpak apps. Follow the below link to install and setup flatpak.

How to install flatpak on ubuntu:

After the installation of flatpak in you Ubuntu, Open your terminal app (Ctrl+Atl+T) and run the below command

flatpak install flathub org.bzflag.BZFlag

During the installation press y and enter when it asked to confirm the installation. It will install the latest version BZFlag first person multiplayer 3D tank battle game. you can run BZFlag multiplayer 3D tank battle game flatpak by running the below command.

flatpak run org.bzflag.BZFlag
