How to install Ascii Patrol game on Ubuntu – Best Ascii Art Game

Ascii Patrol is free open source Ascii art type game for Windows, Linux, Cygwin, DOS and web browsers. It is based on 1982’s Moon Patrol arcade game. The game can run in monochrome and 16 color mode. You can control the game using arrow keys, Enter and Escape keys. Left arrow key for brake, Right key for acceleration, up key for jump, down key for crouch and enter key for fire. Ascii Patrol is simple but additive command line game for linux with good game music and sound effects. It is released under GNU General Public License v3.0 license.

Install Ascii Patrol game on Ubuntu:

Ascii Patrol is available as a snap package for ubuntu. To install the latest version of Ascii Patrol, open your terminal app and type the below command and hit enter.

sudo snap install ascii-patrol

Then type your Ubuntu password and hit the enter key. It will install the latest version of Ascii Patrol on Ubuntu.

To run the game in your terminal type the below command.

After the successful installation of Ascii Patrol, click the show applications in the Ubuntu Gnome dock and type Ascii Patrol in the search box and click Ascii Patrol to open it. For Unity you can search Ascii Patrol from Ubuntu dash.

You can install the development edge version via the below command.

sudo snap install ascii-patrol --edge
