Aviator Video Encoder Software

Aviator is a free and open source video encoder application for Linux. It is written in Python and released GNU General Public License v3.0. Using Aviator, you can encode with SVT-AV1 video codec and Opus audio codec. AV1 is efficient than HEVC, VP9 and h.264. It is a simple and easy to use application.

How to Install Aviator on Ubuntu Linux

Aviator is available as a flatpak package file from the flathub. First install the latest version of flatpak and flathub on your system and released it after the installation. For the installation steps please check the below link.

Install flatpak and flathub on Ubuntu

Open the terminal app using the ctrl+alt+t keys and run below Aviator flatpak install command.

flatpak install flathub net.natesales.Aviator

It will install the latest version of Aviator on your system. Start Aviator using below command.

flatpak run net.natesales.Aviator

And uninstall Aviator app using below command.

sudo flatpak uninstall net.natesales.Aviator
