Install install MKVToolNix on Ubuntu Linux
You can install MKVToolNix from the default Ubuntu repository, flatpak and AppImage. Open the terminal app (ctrl+alt+t) and run below commands one by one. It will install MKVToolNix on your system.
sudo apt update
sudo apt install mkvtoolnix mkvtoolnix-gui
After the installation you can open it via below command or via he show applications menu.
mkvtoolnix-gui
Note: Using above method you will not always get the latest version.
Install MKVToolNix via Flatpak:
If you don’t have then install flatpak and flathub on your system and restart it after the installation.
Now in your terminal app run below MKVToolNix flatpak install command. It will install the latest version of MKVToolNix on your system
flatpak install flathub org.bunkus.mkvtoolnix-gui
After the installation open it using below command.
flatpak run org.bunkus.mkvtoolnix-gui
And you can also uninstall it using below command.
sudo flatpak uninstall org.bunkus.mkvtoolnix-gui
