4Pane is a free and open source file manager application for Linux. It comes with multi-pane, detailed list, archive management, terminal emulator, virtual archive browsing, bookmark, mount file system and ISO, install DEB easily, find and locate, keyboard shortcuts, multiple undo in deletion and lots of file manager configuration options.
How to Install 4pane File Manager on Ubuntu Linux
4pane is available from the default Ubuntu repository. Open your terminal command-line application using ctrl+alt+t keys and run below commands one by one. It will install the 4pane on your Linux system.
sudo apt update
sudo apt install 4pane
4pane
You can also install 4pane using the downloaded deb file. First download 4pane in .deb file format from the above download link and save it on your Downloads folder. Now in the terminal app run below apt install command.
sudo apt install ./Downloads/4pane_8.0-1unofficial.kinetic_amd64.deb
Here “4pane_8.0-1unofficial.kinetic_amd64.deb” is the downloaded file name. You can change above command based on your downloaded file name.
