Buñol, a town located 30 km / 19 miles from the Mediterranean, in which participants throw tomatoes and

Dorothy Mary Hodgkin, OM, FRS (12 May 1910 – 29 July 1994), born Crowfoot, was a British biochemist, credited with the development of protein crystallography. She was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1964.

Carlos Juan Finlay 180th birthday google doodle

Carlos Juan Finlay (December 3, 1833 – August 20, 1915) was a Cuban physician and scientist recognized as a pioneer in yellow fever research.Finlay was born Juan Carlos Finlay y Barres, in Puerto Príncipe (now Camagüey), Cuba, of French and Scottish descent. He reversed the order of his given names to “Carlos Juan” later in his life. In 1853 he attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated in 1855, and completed his studies in Havana and in Paris.

Hermann Rorschach 129th birthday google doodle

Google is celebrating Hermann Rorschach’s 129th birthday with a new interactive inkblot test doodle on its homepage.

Hermann Rorschach (8 November 1884 – 1 April 1922) was a Swiss Freudian psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, best known for developing a projective test known as the Rorschach inkblot test. This test was reportedly designed to reflect unconscious parts of the personality that “project” onto the stimuli. In the test, individuals are shown 10 inkblots – one at a time – and asked to report what objects or figures they see in each of them.
