Reset Ubuntu Dock to Default Settings

You can easily reset the Ubuntu Dock to its default settings, by just running a couple of commands in your terminal command line application. Resetting will give you a fresh OS install feeling and it also fix some weird unusual dock behaving and looking. In this article we will see how to reset Ubuntu dock to default settings.

How to Reset Ubuntu Dock

Open the terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below command . It will reset all dock setting.

dconf reset -f /org/gnome/shell/extensions/dash-to-dock/

Press Enter.

Then type or copy paste below command and press enter.

dconf reset -f /org/gnome/shell/extensions/favorite-apps

It will reset all app shortcuts in your Ubuntu dock. Some time it will not work if you uninstall or change any default apps in your system.
