Kooha Screen Recorder Software for Linux

Kooha is a free and open source simple screen recorder application for Linux. It is released under GNU General Public License v3.0 and written in Python and GTK. It is a simple cute little screen recorder application. Using Kooha you can record your screen and audio from your desktop and your microphone. You can also capture the mouse pointer. You can record full screen or selected part of the screen from desktop. Some other important features are you can delay the starting of screen recorder by 5 or 10 seconds and save the output file in WebM and MKV file formats.

It also supports keyboard shortcuts, so you can set key for this application. Currently it is available in flatpak package to install in your system. It is Inspired from the popular RecApp.

Kooha settings

Install Kooha Screen Recorder on Ubuntu

Kooha Screen Recorder is available in flatpak. If you already install the flatpak and flathub on your system, then follow below steps or Install flatpak and flathub first.

How to install flatpak

In terminal app (ctrl+alt+t) run this Kooha flatpak installation command.

flatpak install flathub io.github.seadve.Kooha

It will install the latest version of Kooha Screen Recorder. You can run this app via this command.

flatpak run io.github.seadve.Kooha

That’s all . Now start recording you screen for screen casting.
