How to install Vimix Live Video Mixing on Ubuntu

Vimix is a free and open source live Video mixing application for Linux and MacOS. It is released under GNU General Public License v3.0. Using this tool you can do graphical mixing and blending of several movie clips and computer generated graphics, with image processing effects in real-time. You can adject the image opacity and shape in the live mixing to produce live graphics. It is best mixing tool for concerts and VJ-ing sessions.It is a successor of the popular GLMixer.

Install Vimix on Ubuntu Linux

Vimix is available via the snap and flatpak package files on Ubuntu. Open the terminal software (ctrl+alt+t) and run this vimix snap installation command.

sudo snap install vimix

Enter your Ubuntu user password if needed. After the installation you can run vimix with this command.

vimix

You can also uninstall Vimix using below command.

sudo snap remove vimix

Install Vimix via Flatpak:

First install flatpak and flathub on your system and restart it after the installation.

Now open terminal app (ctrl+alt+t) and run below Vimix Live Video Mixing flatpak install command. It will install the latest version of Vimix on your system.

flatpak install flathub io.github.brunoherbelin.Vimix

And open Vimix flatpak using below command.

flatpak run io.github.brunoherbelin.Vimix

And uninstall Vimix using below command.

sudo flatpak uninstall io.github.brunoherbelin.Vimix
