HydraPaper Multimonitor Wallpaper Manager

HydraPaper is a free and open source wallpaper manager for Linux. It officially supports GNOME 3, MATE, Cinnamon and Budgie desktop environments and experimental sway window manager and Wayland support. Using HydraPaper you can set different wallpaper for each monitor in a multi monitor setup. It is written in Python 3 and GTK and released under the GPL3 license.

Here you can set wallpaper as favorites, manage all wallpaper collection with folders and also set wallpapers as zoomed, centered, or fitted, with either a black background or a blurred version. Some other useful features are set random wallpapers and app launcher support to access HydraPaper.

Install HydraPaper on Ubuntu

You can install the latest version of HydraPaper wallpaper manager via the flatpak package manager. First install flatpak and flathub on your system, then restart your system.

Install flatpak and flathub

Open the terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below HydraPaper flatpak command.

flatpak install flathub org.gabmus.hydrapaper

It will install the latest version of HydraPaper on your Ubuntu system. You can run HydraPaper via the below flatpak command.

flatpak run org.gabmus.hydrapaper

HydraPaper settings

You can also install via below method but currently not recommended.

sudo apt update
sudo apt install hydrapaper
