FeedBurner is a web rss feed management service founded by Dick Costolo, Eric Lunt, Steve Olechowski, and Matt Shobe in 2004. On 2007 it was acquired by Google Inc.FeedBurner hasn’t seen any features or updates for a long time and Google shut down the APIs on 2012.
MailChimp is an email marketing service provider and it was founded in 2001 by Ben Chestnut. MailChimp is affordable for beginners. It offers 12000 emails per month and 2000 subscribers for completely free. To move from FeedBurner to MailChimp first you need to export your email subscribers from FeedBurner service.
Export your email subscribers from FeedBurner
Login to your FeedBurner account and click on your feed.
Then click on the Subscribers side menu option and scroll down to the Email Subscription Services section and click on Manage Your Email Subscriber list.
Then click the export CSV link and download the csv file.
Import your email subscribers in Mailchimp
Create a new MailChimp account using this link
In your MailChimp Dashboard click the Import your list.
Fill all required details and the click create list and import.
Select CSV or tab-delimited test file and click next to import contactes from .csv and .txt file
Browse and select the downloaded feedburner .CSV file and check the I understand that my billing plan may be automatically upgraded checkbox and click Next button.
Match your email address column and save it and then click the next button. Then again click the next button to confirm.
Wait for “Your import is complete!” to complete your list import.
Turn off your Email Subscriptions in FeedBurner
After that just turn off your Email Subscriptions in FeedBurner so your users don’t receive two emails.
To turn off again go to Feebburner and go to Publicize Tab in FeedBurner and click on the Email Subscriptions link in the left column. Then then click deactivate.
Then stop the Redirection of FeedBurner feed from your original site feed to feedburner feed, if you are using any redirection.
