How to install VirusTotal Uploader on Ubuntu Linux

VirusTotal is a free online service from google that scan and analyzes files and URLs for viruses, worms, trojans and other kinds of malicious content. It uses more than 60 different antivirus engines and website scanners to check the file. VirusTotal Uploader is native Linux desktop application from VirusTotal online service. You can directly upload files from this app to scan and check their virus status. It is released under Apache License 2.0.

Install VirusTotal Uploader on Ubuntu Linux

VirusTotal Uploader is available as a flatpak package from flathub. You can install it via your terminal command-line app. Open terminal and run below VirusTotal Uploader flatpak installation command. If you don’t have flatpak and flathub on your system, then install it via below link and restart your system first.

Install flatpak

flatpak install flathub com.virustotal.VirusTotalUploader

Start VirusTotal Uploader via

flatpak run com.virustotal.VirusTotalUploader

You can uninstall it via

sudo flatpak uninstall com.virustotal.VirusTotalUploader
