Norka is a free and open source simple and easy to use text editor for Linux. It is specially designed for Elementary OS and GNOME but you can also install on any other Linux distro. It is still in early stage and based on PyGObject, Python3 and GTK+3. It is released under open source MIT License. It comes with custom key shortcuts, spell checking, automatic saving, automatic indentation, Tab width customization option. It comes with more than 10 build in themes to change its look and feel.
Install Norka Text Editor on Ubuntu
You can install Norka Text Editor via flatpak on Ubuntu. For that first you need to install flatpak and flathub on your system. Follow the below link for flatpak tutorial. If you already have flatpak on your system, then skip this step and diectly install Norka Text Editor from below command.
How to install flatpak on ubuntu
After the installation of flatpak, restart your system. Then in terminal run this Norka flatpak installation command.
flatpak install flathub com.github.tenderowl.norka
Then you can start Norka Text Editor on ubuntu via below command in terminal.
flatpak run com.github.tenderowl.norka
That’s all. Norka is a simple text editor and still in early stage.
