How to install NewsFlash Feed Reader on Ubuntu

NewsFlash is a free and open source feed reader for Linux. It is specially designed for GNOME desktop and written in rust. It comes with sync, desktop notification, keyboard shortcuts, tagging and fast search and filtering support. You can also connect your online feed reader account in NewsFlash. Currently it supports feedly, Miniflus, Fever and feed bin. You can also add your local rss feeds here. It also comes with more than 5 build-in themes and dark mode support. You can set the custom fonts and feed update interval.

Install NewsFlash Feed Reader on Ubuntu

Ubuntu users can install NewsFlash via the flatpak. To install any flatpak on your ubuntu, you need to setup flatpak and flathub first. Follow the below flatpak installation tutorial.

How to install flatpak on ubuntu

After the flatpak installation restart your system. Then open your terminal (ctrl+alt+t) application and run this NewsFlash flatpak installation command.

flatpak install flathub io.gitlab.news_flash.NewsFlash

You can open the NewsFlash feed reader via below command.

flatpak run io.gitlab.news_flash.NewsFlash
