How to backup your website in cpanel

cPanel is a Linux web hosting control panel that provides GUI, command line and API-based access and automation tools for your website. It supports CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and CloudLinux OS.

How to backup your website in cpanel

To login your cpanel, just go to
http://yoursite:2082 or http://yoursite:2083 or http://yourserverip:2082 or http://yourserverip:2083

Replace yoursite with your actual website address and yourserverip with your actual ip addrees.
We strongly recommend that you allways log in via port 2083 (SSL connection).

In your Files section, go to Backup Wizard.

Then click Backup button.

In the Backup section there is two options available. One is full backup and another one is partial backup.
Full Backup allows you to backup all of the files and configurations on your website.This is usefull if you want to move your account to another server. Partial backup allows you to backup your home directory, MYSQL Databases and Email forwarders and filters separately. Later you can use these files to restore your website through the cpanel interface.

You can also backup your website files manually in cpanel. To manually backup your files and databases in cPanel just follow the below steps.

Backup your files via File Manager

In your Files section, click the File Manager.

In the directory selection menu, select the Home directory checkbox and click Go button.

In file manager menu click the Select All menu to select all files. After that click the Compress button.

Then select the compression file type and type your file name.

Then wait for the completion. After that select the compressed file and click the download button on upper menu to download the file in your computer.

Backup your database via phpmyadmin

In your cpanel’s Databases section, find and click the phpMyAdmin.

Then select your database and click the export button.

Then select your file format and click the Go button to download your database.
