Gedit Text editor in Ubuntu won’t save file on a VirtualBox shared folder

Could not save the file “/media/sf_virtualbox_shared/error”.
Unexpected error:Error renaming temporary file: Text file busy

When you save any text file in VirtualBox shared folder using Gedit Text editor in Ubuntu guest and Windows Host, after the initial saving you will get the above error, And you can’t save it. It is a old bug but still unsolved. virtualbox  and Gnome

You can solve this problem by using below method. But this is a not a straight solution.

Open the Gedit Text editor and click the hamburg menu and select preferences.

It will open the preferences windows, Then select Editor Tab. Here you can check Create a backup copy of files before saving and close it.

After that When saving files from now on, you need to save the file twice. First time save and ignore the error, then save again. and it works. In this way you can solve Unexpected error:Error renaming temporary file: Text file busy error on Ubuntu based Gedit error.
