OpenTyrian is a free and open source port of the famous arcade style DOS game Tyrian. Tyrian is a vertical shooter game by Eclipse Software and published by Epic MegaGames. OpenTyrian is available for Android, , BlackBerry, Mac OS X, Linux and many more platforms. In this game you are playing as Trent Hawkins, a skilled fighter-pilot and your job in game is to fight Microsol and save the world. You can play this game in story mode, single player mode, two player mode and networked multiplayer mode.
Install OpenTyrian on Ubuntu:
You can install OpenTyrian shooter game on Ubuntu via snappy. Open your terminal app (Ctrl+Alt+T). And type the below command in terminal to install OpenTyrian shooter game.
sudo snap install opentyrian
Then type your Ubuntu password and hit enter. It will install the latest version OpenTyrian vertical scrolling shooter game on Ubuntu. After the successful installation of OpenTyrian vertical scrolling shooter game, you can start it from terminal by running the below command
opentyrian
Or click the show applications in the Ubuntu Gnome dock and type OpenTyrian in the search box and click OpenTyrian to open the game.
The game controls are arrow keys for movement, space key for fire, enter key for toggle rear weapon mode and ctrl/alt for fire left/right sidekick. You can change it via the settings menu.
