Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS Second Point Release

Canonical has released Ubuntu 20.04.2 long-term support and now it is available to download. Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS is the second point release in the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS series. And the third point release Ubuntu 20.04.3 will roll out in the summer after Ubuntu 21.04 release. LTS will provide five years free security and maintenance updates until April 2025.

These above updated Ubuntu 20.04.2 installation media will reduce to fewer updates after installation. The second point releases of other Ubuntu flavours Kubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, Ubuntu Budgie 20.04.2 LTS, Ubuntu MATE 20.04.2 LTS, Lubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, Ubuntu Kylin 20.04.2 LTS, Ubuntu Studio 20.04.2 LTS and Xubuntu 20.04.2 are also available.

Ubuntu 20.04.2 comes with HWE by default and Linux 5.8 kernel and improved AMD Renoir chips support and exFAT driver improvements. Some other important updates are Mesa 20.2.6, libdrm 2.4.102, xserver 1.20.9, GNOME Shell 3.36.4, LibreOffice 6.4.5, Mozilla Firefox 84, and lots more.
