Widelands is RTS (real-time strategy) game for Linux, macOS and Windows. It is a free RTS game and released under open source GPL v2+ license. You need OpenGL version 2.1 or higher to run this game. It comes with singleplayer campaigns and a multiplayer mode. In this game you need to build a settlement, produce resources and train soldiers to attack enemy. you can choose from Barbarians, Empire, Atlanteans, and Frisians tribes. This game was inspired by blue byte software’s Settlers II RTS game. This game is still under heavy development.

Widelands – open source real-time strategy game

Widelands is a free open source real-time strategy game. It is built upon the SDL and other open source libraries .widelands is heavily inspired by Settlers I & II.

Main features:

Four Worlds (Tile Sets) (Greenland, Winterland, Blackland and Desert)
Three Tribes (Barbarians, Imperials and Atlanteans)
Several playable single player (tutorial) missions
Maps for single and multiplayer mode
Save and load of single and multiplayer games
Ability to build a settlement from scratch
Military and warfare (Attacking, Training, defending, conquering of military buildings)
A map editor, to build your own maps and campaigns
