Steam Metadata Editor – Edit Steam App Metadata Locally

Steam Metadata Editor is a free and open source application that edits the metadata of your Steam apps locally. Using this application you can edit almost every single details of a Steam application like add missing release date, create your own launch menus, order your list of games and remove unwanted words from title. You can also modified the data through the JSON file. It is written in python and released under GNU General Public License v3.0.

How to install Steam Metadata Editor on Ubuntu

Steam Metadata Editor is available as a flatpak format from the flathub. If you don’t have then first install flatpak and flathub on your system and restart it after the installation.

Now open the terminal command-line software (ctrl+alt+t) and run below Steam Metadata Editor app flatpak install command. It will install the latest version Steam Metadata Editor on your Ubuntu Linux system.

flatpak install flathub io.github.tralph3.Steam_Metadata_Editor

After the installation open Steam Metadata Editor using below command,

flatpak run io.github.tralph3.Steam_Metadata_Editor

And uninstall it using below command.

sudo flatpak uninstall io.github.tralph3.Steam_Metadata_Editor
