Reco is a free and open source audio recording software for Linux. Using Reco you can record your system audio, microphone or both simultaneously. currently it supports ALAC, FLAC, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, Opus, and WAV file formats. It is written in Vala and released in GNU General Public License v3.0. It comes with delay before recording up to 15 seconds and the length of recording up to 600 seconds support, Auto saving, set default saving folder and stereo and mono channel support.
How to Install Reco on Ubuntu Linux
You can install Reco via flatpak from flathub. First install flatpak and flathub on your Linux system and restart it after the installation. Now open the terminal application. You can open it via the applications menu or using ctrl+alt+t keys and run below Reco flatpak installation command.
flatpak install flathub com.github.ryonakano.reco
After the installation run below flatpak command to start Reco app. This is simple and easy to use application.
flatpak run com.github.ryonakano.reco
You can also uninstall Reco audio recorder using this command.
sudo flatpak uninstall com.github.ryonakano.reco
