Qtractor Multitrack Audio Sequencer – How to install Qtractor on ubuntu

Qtractor is a free and open source multi track non linear audio sequencer for Linux. You can use it for any audio and MIDI files for recording also. Supported audio files are OGG, MP3, WAV, FLAC, AIFF and more via libsndfile library.It uses Jack Audio Connection Kit for audio and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture for MIDI files. It is released under GNU General Public License (GPL) version licence. It is written in C++ and Qt. It comes with build in audio mixer and monitor controls and connection patchbay control. Some other features are Unlimited effect inserts per track or bus, tempo map and MIDI clip editor.

Install Qtractor Multitrack Audio Sequencer on ubuntu

You can easily install the Qtractor Multitrack Audio Sequencer on Ubuntu . For that open your terminal app (Ctrl+Alt+T) and type the below command and press the enter key.

sudo apt-get update

Type your ubuntu password if needed. And then type and run the below Qtractor Multitrack Audio Sequencer installation command.

sudo apt-get install qtractor

when it ask about the confirmation the installation, just type y and press enter to confirm it. And it also ask you to configure jackd2 during the installation . Select yes using the arrow keys and press the enter key.

Then it will install the latest version of Qtractor Multitrack Audio Sequencer on Ubuntu. click the show applications menu in the Ubuntu Gnome dock and type Qtractor in the search box and click Qtractor to open it.
