Pensela Screen Annotation Application

Pensela is a free and open source annotation software for Linux, Windows and MacOS. Using Pensela, you can annotation and take screenshot in the same tool. It comes with many annotation options like drawing circle, square, triangle shapes, arrow mark, correct or wrong signs. You can also add text, change color, highlight text and take screen shot with the build-in screenshot button. It is released under ISC License.

Install Pensela on Ubuntu Linux

Pensela is available as a portable AppImage and native deb package file format. Download Pensela in .AppImage file format from the above download link and save it on your Downloads folder. Open the terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below commands to run Pensela.

cd Downloads
sudo chmod +x ~ Pensela-1.2.3.AppImage

Here”Pensela-1.2.3.AppImage” downloaded file you can change this based on your downloaded file name.

./Pensela-1.2.3.AppImage

You can also install it via native .deb package file. like above download Pensela in .deb file format and save in your Downloads folder and run this command in terminal to install it.

sudo apt install ./Download/pensela*.deb

[or]

sudo apt install ./Download/pensela_1.2.3_amd64.deb

Here “pensela_1.2.3_amd64.deb” is the downloaded file name.
