The Wayback Machine is a digital web page archive of the World Wide Web on the Internet from The Internet Archive and launched in October 2001. It was set up by Brewster Kahle and Bruce Gilliat. Currently it has archived more than 273 billion webpages from over 361 million websites, taking up 15 petabytes of storage and it has never published an inventory of the websites it archives or the algorithms it uses to determine what to capture and when.
