Maverick Model 3D Editor

Maverick Model 3D is a free and open source 3D model editor software for Linux and Windows. It support for both skeletal and vertex frame animations. Derived from the foundation of Misfit Model 3D, Maverick Model 3D addresses various issues and significantly enhances MD3 model compatibility. Notable improvements include the correction of normals in exported player upper.md3 and head.md3 files, expanded support for saving IQE and SMD models.

It introduces an extension of the .mm3d file format. As for supported model formats, It embraces a diverse range, including Misfit MM3D, Milkshape MS3D, Quake MD2 (with a note on unoptimized/slow GL command exports), Quake MD3, Wavefront OBJ, Inter-Quake Export IQE, Studiomdl Data SMD, and GameMaker Studio D3D.

How to Install Maverick Model 3D on Ubuntu

To install Maverick Model 3D on Ubuntu, open the terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below Maverick Model 3D flatpak install command.

flatpak install flathub moe.clover.mm3d

You can open Maverick Model 3D using below command.

flatpak run moe.clover.mm3d

Note: If you don’t already have flatpak and flathub installed,then install them on your system first using the commands provided below. After the installation, restart your system and again start the Maverick Model 3D installation.

sudo apt install flatpak
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

And uninstall it using below commands.

flatpak uninstall moe.clover.mm3d

[OR]

sudo flatpak uninstall moe.clover.mm3d
