Manage Drives & Partitions on Ubuntu – Indicator Diskman

Indicator Diskman is a free Ubuntu panel based indicator applet to manage drives and partitions on your Ubuntu OS. Using Indicator Diskman, you can mount, unmount, lock, unlock encrypted volumes and ISO files. It is written in Vala and released under GNU General Public License v3.0.

How to Install Indicator Diskman on Ubuntu

To install Indicator Diskman on Ubuntu, download Indicator Diskman from the above download link and save it on your Downloads folder. Now open the terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below command. It will install the latest Indicator Diskman on your Linux system. Here the downloaded fle name is “indicator-diskman-v17.1-amd64.deb”. You can change below commands based on your file name.

sudo apt install ./Downloads/indicator-diskman-v17.1-amd64.deb

To open Indicator Diskman, click the Show Apps from the Ubuntu dock and type Disk indicator in the search field. Then click Disk indicator.Then start managing your drives from Ubuntu top panel.

Install Indicator Diskman via PPA:

In the terminal run below commands one by one.

sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:teejee2008/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indicator-diskman
