How to install VirtualBow Bow Designer and Simulator on Ubuntu

VirtualBow is a free and open-source Bow Designer and Simulator application for Linux, Windows and MacOS. Using this you can design perfect real word bows. You can easily test your design here before production. You can check the static and dynamic characteristics of the bow such as the draw curve, limb deformation, stresses, arrow velocity and degree of efficiency using this tool. It is released under open source GNU General Public License v3.0.

Install VirtualBow on Ubuntu

VirtualBow is available as a native deb file format for Ubuntu. You can install it via terminal application. First download the VirtualBow in .deb file format from the below download link and save it on your downloads folder. File will look like “virtualbow-0.7.1-linux64.deb”. You can change the below commands based on your downloaded file name.

Download VirtualBow

Open your terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below commands one by one. If needed enter your Ubuntu password.

cd Downloads
sudo dpkg -i virtualbow-0.7.1-linux64.deb
sudo apt install -f
