How to Install Proton Pass for Linux on Ubuntu

Proton Pass is a open-source encrypted password manager for Linux, Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS. Using this you can store your login credentials like username & password, notes, credit card information, and more. It comes with Pass monitor, built-in 2-factor authentication, passkeys support, password share feature, email masking and many more. It comes in free and paid versions.

Install Proton Pass on Ubuntu

Proton Pass for Ubuntu is available as a native .deb package format. Download the latest Proton Pass for Linux from the above download link and save it on your Downloads folder. now open the terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below Proton Pass apt install command. It will install Proton Pass on your Ubuntu system.

sudo apt install ./Downloads/ProtonPass*.deb


sudo apt install ./Downloads/ProtonPass_1.17.5.deb

Note: Here “ProtonPass_1.17.5.deb” is the downloaded file name. You can change above command based on your file name.

After the successful installation of Proton Pass, you can open it using below command in the terminal. You can also open it via the Show Apps Ubuntu dock menu applications.


Now login with your username and password.
