How to install LiVES Video Editing & VJ system on Ubuntu

LiVES is a free Video Editing & VJ system for Linux and BSD systems. Using LiVES you can edit your videos in non-linear video editing mode. You can mix and switch clips from the keyboard in LiVES. It comes with lots of realtime effects to enhance you video. Using LiVES clip editor, you can trim and edit your clips arrange them in a multitrack timeline. The main feature of LiVES video editor is recording in real time and edit it and render it.

Install LiVES Video Editing & VJ system on Ubuntu

You can install LiVES video editor via unofficial ubuntuhandbook PPA. Open your terminal app and type the below code and hit enter key.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/lives

Then type your Ubuntu Password and hit enter. After that press the Enter key to confirm the addition of the PPA on your system. Then run the below command in the terminal.

sudo apt-get update

After that type and run the below command in the terminal to install the latest version LiVES Video Editing & VJ system with required plugins on Ubuntu.

sudo apt-get install lives lives-plugins

During the installation press the Y key and then the enter key to confirm the installation of LiVES Video Editing & VJ system. After the installation of LiVES non linear video editor, click the show applications in the Ubuntu Gnome dock and type LiVES in the search box and click LiVES to open it. For Unity you can search LiVES graphical from Ubuntu dash.
