Document Scanner Software for Linux

Document Scanner is a free and open source scanning application for Linux. Using Document Scanner you can scan documents and photos easily and create digital copy of it. Currently it supports image flatbed scanners that have suitable SANE drivers installed. It comes with single and multiple support, text and photo support, crop out the bad parts , rotate, print, email the scans, reorder, set scan resolution and export to pdf and many more.

How to Install Document Scanner on Ubuntu Linux

Document Scanner is available as a flatpak package from the flathub store. Install it using below link if you don’t have it, then restart you system.

How to install flatpak and flathub

After that open the terminal software (ctrl+alt+t) and run below Document Scanner Linux application flatpak install command.

flatpak install flathub org.gnome.SimpleScan

It will install the latest version of Document Scanner app in your system. You can open it using below command and also from the application menu.

flatpak run org.gnome.SimpleScan

You can also uninstall Document Scanner using this command.

sudo flatpak uninstall org.gnome.SimpleScan
