How to Clear Google Earth Cache in Ubuntu

Sometimes Google Earth will not work correctly due to some cache issues. On that time you can troubleshoot your Google earth via below method.

Open the Google earth application and navigate to the File menu and click the Server Sign Out.

Then go to Tools->Options->Cache tab. Here you can get the Delete cache file option. just click that button.

How to install Joomla 1.6 on ubuntu

To install joomla 1.6 on your localhost, you must setup apache and mysql first. We have already posted a tutorial on How to install and configure Apache,PHP,MySql and phpMyadmin on ubuntu.Please read first.

1.Download Joomla 1.6

Go to joomla website and download the latest joomla stable full version in zip format on your desktop and extract it. Now you will get Joomla_1.6.0-Stable-Full_Package folder. Here 1.6.0 is the version number of current stable release.Just rename that folder to joomla.

How to install Drupal 7 on ubuntu

1.Download Drupal 7

and download the latest Drupal 7 version in zip format on your desktop and extract. Now you will get drupal-7.0 folder. just rename that folder to drupal

How to uncompress or open a rar file in ubuntu

Do you want to search for a command to open this file?“error when trying to open a rar file, then you need a .rar un-compresser. How to install wordpress on ubuntu (step by step)

To install wordpress on your localhost, you must setup apache and mysql first. We have already posted a tutorial on How to install and configure Apache,PHP,MySql and phpMyadmin on ubuntu.Please read first.

1. Go to wordpress website and download the latest wordpress version in zip format on your desktop and extract. Now you will get wordpress folder.

2.Copy wordpress to /var/www folder

gksudo nautilus

How to Install Mircosoft Windows fonts on Ubuntu

In ubuntu you can install microsoft windows fonts using below methods. First install Microsoft’s TrueType Core fonts.This font pack contains Andale Mono, Arial, Arial Black, Comic Sans MS, Courier New, Georgia, Impact, Times New Roman, Trebuchet, Verdana, and Webdings font.

Terminal method:

1.Open your terminal. To open terminal click the Dash home from unity launcher.And type terminal in the search field. And click Terminal. And type the below command.

sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer

Type your ubuntu password if needed. It will install the microsoft core fonts.

If it ask the confirm the license agreement , then follow below step.When the license agreement appears, use the arrow and Page Down/Page Up keys to scroll and then press the TAB key and select OK and press enter.

Now select Yes using the arrow key and press enter.

Note: You can also download the Microsoft’s TrueType Core fonts by clicking this link. and double click the downloaded file and install via Ubuntu software center.

Then install Microsoft’s ClearType fonts. This font pack contains Constantia, Corbel, Calibri, Cambria, Candara, and Consolas.

Type below command in terminal and press enter.

mkdir .fonts
wget -qO- http://plasmasturm.org/code/vistafonts-installer/vistafonts-installer | bash

Then restart Ubuntu.

How to remove old linux kernels in ubuntu via synaptic package manager

When you update linux kernels in ubuntu, the old linux kernel version is not deleted and it also appears in your boot menu.

To remove old linux kernels in ubuntu via synaptic

1.First, find which kernel you are using to avoid the deletion of current linux kernel version. Open the terminal. To open terminal go to Applications->Accessories->Terminal and Type the below command and press enter.

uname -r

Note your current linux kernel version.
