Vara is a free and open source digital painting application for Linux and Windows. It comes with pencil, brush, eraser, eyedropper (colour picker), bucket fill like basic tools, pressure-for-size, stroke smoothing, foreground and background layers support, brush presets, quick palette, keyboard shortcuts and many more. It is still in early stage of development.

How to Install Vara Digital Painting app on Ubuntu
Vara Painting app is available as a portable package file and flatpak. Download the latest Vara for Linux ready to use package file from the above download link and save it on your Downloads folder. Right click on it and extract the file.
Now open the extracted folder and right click on the vara program file and select Run to open it.
Install vara via flatpak:
You can also install it via below vara flatpak install command.
flatpak install flathub in.co.nandakumar.vara
And open it using below command.
flatpak run in.co.nandakumar.vara
If you don’t have then first install flatpak and flathub on your system using below tutorial link and restart it after the installation.
You can also uninstall it using below commands.
flatpak uninstall in.co.nandakumar.vara
