Violin is a free and open source lightweight and minimal music player for Linux, MacOS and Windows. It supports some command file formats like mp3, flac, mp4, wav and ogg. It comes with basic media keys like skip, previous, play and pause, volume slider, shuffle files, endless repeat, search song by name and sorting alphabetically by name, album, artist. It is released under MIT License.
Install Violin Music Player on Ubuntu Linux
Violin is available as a snap package from snap store. Open the terminal app (ctrl+alt+t) and run below Violin snap installation command. It will install the latest version of Violin on your Ubuntu system.
sudo snap install violin-player
After the installation you can open the app from the application menu or using below command.
violin-player
Now just click the Open folder button and browser open your music folder to start playing music.
