Varia Download Manager Software

Varia is a free and open-source download manager for Linux and Windows. It is based on the aria2 command-line download manager. Varia comes with support for pausing and resuming downloads even after rebooting your computer. Some other features include speed limiting for downloads, filtering by in progress and completed downloads, background mode, authentication with a username/password, setting the simultaneous download amount, and the option to set the default download directory. It is a simple and easy-to-use application.

Install Varia Download Manager on Ubuntu

Varia Download Manager is available as a flatpak app from the remote flathub. First install the latest flatpak and flathub on your system and restart it after the installation.

Note: If you don’t already have flatpak and flathub installed,then install them on your system first using the commands provided below. After the installation, restart your system and again start the Varia installation.

sudo apt install flatpak
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

After that open the terminal application (ctrl+alt+t) and run below Varia flatpak install command.

flatpak install flathub io.github.giantpinkrobots.varia

It will install the latest Varia app on your system. Now open it with the below command.

flatpak run io.github.giantpinkrobots.varia

You can also uninstall Varia using below commands.

flatpak uninstall io.github.giantpinkrobots.varia

[OR]

sudo flatpak uninstall io.github.giantpinkrobots.varia
