X File Explorer or XFE is a free and open source file manager for Linux. It is lightweight and easy to use linux file manager based on old X Win Commander. It is released under open source GNU General Public License. The only requirement for XFE is FOX library. It also comes with command-line support. It comes with integrated RPM/DEB package installer, uninstaller, test editor, image viewer and with four file manager modes.

Nemo is a free and open source file manager for Linux system. It is the default file manager for Cinnamon desktop environment and specially designed for the Cinnamon desktop. But you can also install it on any other Linux desktop environment. It is a fork of Nautilus (GNOME Files) file manager. It is released under GNU general Public Version 2 license. Some of the unique features other than Nautilus are dual panel view, type-ahead search, tree view, configurable toolbar, Open as root, Open in terminal and many more. It also supports plugins. using this you can add and enhance nemo features.

Broot is a free and open source tree view command-line interactive directory navigation file manager for Linux, MacOS and Windows. Running broot on your terminal, you can get the tree overview of your system directory. It also comes with fuzzy search filter to easily search and find your files. You can also open files with their default programs. Some other features are panels, add shortcut to a file, find what files or folders take space on your system and check git statuses. You can also navigate and open files with your mouse. It is released under MIT License.
