SDL Sopwith is a free and open source bi-plane shoot em up game for Linux, Windows and MacOS. It is a is a port of the game Sopwith, which was originally by BMB CompuScience Canada. It is released under GNU General Public License v2.0 and based on LibSDL. It comes with PC speaker emulation and Pseudo-functional networking support. It is a fun and old school game.

How to Install SDL Sopwith on Ubuntu
SDL Sopwith is available as flatpak package file for Linux. You can install it from remote flathub. So first install flatpak and flathub on your system and restart it after the installation. Follow below link for the installation instructions.
Install flatpak and flathub on Ubuntu
After that open the terminal software (ctrl+alt+t) and run below SDL Sopwith game flatpak install command. It will install the latest version of SDL Sopwith on your Ubuntu system.
flatpak install flathub io.github.fragglet.sdl_sopwith
And open the game using this command.
flatpak run io.github.fragglet.sdl_sopwith
And you can also uninstall SDL Sopwith using below commands.
flatpak uninstall io.github.fragglet.sdl_sopwith
