Prospect Mail – Outlook Mail Client

Prospect Mail is a free and open source Outlook desktop mail client for Linux, MacOS and Windows. It is a unofficial Outlook mail client. It comes with Microsoft/Office 365 account support, system try support, notifications, spellcheck, standard or custom outlook url support and many more. It uses the web app using Electron and released under MIT License.

How to Install Prospect Outlook for Linux client on Ubuntu

Prospect Outlook for Linux mail client is available as a snap and portable AppImage file format. Open the terminal software (ctrl+alt+t) and run below Prospect Mail snap install command. It will install the latest version of Prospect Mail on your system.

sudo snap install prospect-mail

And open Prospect Mail using below command or via the Show Apps menu from the Ubuntu dock.

prospect-mail

Note: Don’t use it for personal Outlook.com accounts.

You can also uninstall it using below command.

sudo snap remove prospect-mail

Install Prospect Mail via AppImage:

Download the latest version of Prospect Mail in .AppImage file format from the above download link and save it on your Downloads folder. Open the terminal app and run below commands one by one. Here “Prospect-Mail-0.5.1.AppImage” is the downloaded ile name. You can change below commands based on your downloaded file name.

cd Downloads
sudo chmod +x ~ Prospect-Mail-0.5.1.AppImage
./Prospect-Mail-0.5.1.AppImage
