Lapce is a free and open source code editor for Windows, Linux and MacOS. It is written in Rust and released under Apache License 2.0. It comes with native GUI and GPU rendering, modal editing, built-in remote development, terminal and Language Server Protocol support. you can extend its features using plugins also. It is based on Druid, Xi-Editor’s Rope Science and Wgpu.
Install Lapce on Ubuntu Linux
Lapce is available as a flatpak package file from flathub. If you don’t have them, first install flatpak and flathub on your system and restart after the installation. Now open the terminal app (ctrl+alt+t) and run below Lapce flatpak installation command. It will install the latest version Lapce code editor on your system.
flatpak install flathub dev.lapce.lapce
After the installation open it using below command.
flatpak run dev.lapce.lapce
And uninstall it using below command if you don’t like it.
sudo flatpak uninstall dev.lapce.lapce
That’s all.
