WordPress for Android 2.1 beta is now available for download and testing.what’s new in this beta?

Autosave timer while editing posts.
Every 60 seconds the post will be autosaved.
edit comments while on the go now.
now set the width for linked images.
new WordPress.com reader. Navigating posts is much faster and you can add comments to posts that you are reading. You can also share the post to other Android apps.
Small improvements to the UI, most notably that the delete post button has been moved to a less prominent spot to prevent accidental taps on it.
Reliability improvements
Translation updates

Now one click update for AMPPS binary is available.
supports SSL.
While adding a domain in AMPPS, it gives an option to add an entry to Host File.
FTP Users can be created and managed with the help of FTP Account & Manage FTP in Enduser respectively.
Active / Inactive Status for mod_ssl, FTP Server in Status Page.
Select / Deselect Scripts as per the Category in the Admin Software page.
When a package is downloaded now it will show the mirror from which it is being downloaded.

Robert Doisneau’s 100th birthday google doodle

Google is celebrating Robert Doisneau’s 100th birthday with his landmark shots in a new google doodle on its homepage.
Robert Doisneau (14 April 1912 – 1 April 1994) was a French photographer. In the 1930s he used a Leica on the streets of Paris; together with Henri Cartier-Bresson he was a pioneer of photojournalism.He is renowned for his 1950 image Le baiser de l’hôtel de ville (Kiss by the Hôtel de Ville), a photo of a couple kissing in the busy streets of Paris. Robert Doisneau was appointed a Chevalier (Knight) of the National Order of the Légion d’honneur in 1984

Firefox click-to-play option for plugins

The click-to-play option for plugins is now available in the Firefox nightly channel. When click_to_play is enabled, plugins will require an extra click to activate and start.

Example: The flash and silverlight videos won’t auto play automatically.

To enable click_to_play in firefox Just go to about:config in address  bar and enable the plugins.click_to_play flag.

Bing going to charge for it’s search API

Microsoft has announced that it will move the Bing Search API to Microsoft’s Windows Azure Marketplace and going to charge for it’s search API calls.

Some Notes:

approximately $40 (USD) per month for up to 20,000 queries.
transition will begin in several weeks and will take a few months to complete.
After the transition period, Bing Search API 2.0 will no longer be available for free public use

Apple released java update to remove Flashback Trojan

Apple has released a new java software update that removes the most common variant of the Flashback Trojan.

From Apple security note “This update also configures the Java web plug-in to disable the automatic execution of Java applets. Users may re-enable automatic execution of Java applets using the Java Preferences application. If the Java web plug-in detects that no applets have been run for an extended period of time it will again disable Java applets.”
